Tuesday Sep 23, 2014
This interview first aired on the September 20, 2014 “FFA Today” show on Rural Radio SiriusXM Channel 80.
Don Ball grew up in a farming community in Henderson County, Ky., where he was a member of the local FFA chapter. Don talks about his FFA projects (dairy cows and hogs), and he recalls the experience of traveling by train to the national FFA convention in Kansas City, Mo., and to the national livestock show in Chicago. Following a successful career in custom home building, Don and his wife created a $500,000 endowment that will award up to 400 free FFA jackets each year to qualified members. Their endowment supports the National FFA Organization’s Give the Gift of Blue campaign.
