Learning about Reindeer in Alaska

December 23, 2015

Taylor Armstrong, former Alaska state FFA president and a member of the North Pole FFA Chapter in Alaska, explains what she has learned about reindeer through her SAE project. She currently owns two female reindeer, which she plans to halter-break so she can train them to pull a sleigh.

Former FFA member Jennifer Robinette is program coordinator for the Reindeer Research Program at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. She manages outreach efforts for youth in rural communities in Alaska, and she organizes reindeer husbandry camps for both youth and adults.

This interview first aired on the December 19, 2015 “FFA Today” show on Rural Radio SiriusXM Channel 147.
