For 18 years, the River View FFA Chapter in Warsaw, Ohio, has organized and hosted an annual Touch of Country Christmas event for area elementary students. FFA advisor Alyssa McMullen and chapter president Eden Ehman explain how chapter members transformed the ag shop into a winter wonderland so their guests could enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides and other activities. Appomattox Middle School FFA members in Virginia gathered Christmas cards for military service members who were away from their families during the holidays. FFA advisor Dani Gaulden relates how the chapter worked with others in the community, collecting nearly 500 cards to show their support of service members in Okinawa and at Camp Lejeune, S.C.

Byron Nelson FFA member Jennie Powell is raising a guide dog for her SAE, training and socializing the dog in preparation for the formal training program. (2015-16 National FFA President Taylor McNeel visited the chapter last April!)

Madison Taylor, a student at the University of Minnesota−Twin Cities and a former Minnesota state FFA officer, traveled to Uganda in East Africa to work with teachers and students at Gayaza High School. From collaborating with the teachers on curriculum to presenting a workshop on leadership development for the students, Madison says her experiences in Uganda will stay with her forever.

He tells correspondent Thomas Shaw that his agriculture teacher was his role model, and now Jacob is filling that same role for his students at Riverton High School in Kansas. He says a rewarding part of his job is watching his students grow and develop as they become young adults.
