Cason Anderson, a former member of the Perry FFA Chapter in Georgia, now works about 130 acres of pecans – a specialty crop that Cason says is “high-risk, high-return.” Cason used an SAE grant that he received from the National FFA Organization to buy a disc mower when he was starting out in farming. He is a strong advocate of SAE grants and loans to help young farmers get the tools they need to achieve success.
