Tabitha Hudspeth is an agricultural studies major at Arkansas State University and she is also the 2016-17 National Teach Ag intern. Tabitha describes two main reasons for choosing agricultural education as a career: #1, there is a need for more agriculture teachers – so jobs are available; and #2, agriculture is an open field with a wide variety of options.
Isaiah Govea is an agricultural education major at the University of Arizona and he also serves as a Teach Ag Ambassador. Isaiah grew up in Phoenix and did not have an agricultural background, but he was drawn to agriculture and FFA because of the leadership opportunities. He says agriculture has something for everybody.
Tabitha and Isaiah encourage everyone to check out Teach Ag Day activities on Thursday, Sept. 22: www.naae.org/teachag
